| Class #FAP613 Summer Means Azalea Pruning 13 June 2008 |
It’s that time again: Our first summer Pruning School day of 2008, and boy do we have a site! We will be in McLean, near Chain Bridge off 123. This summer pruning opportunity will take place on June 13th. We will be pruning Pieris Japonica, rhododendron and azaleas. There are also two espaliered southern magnolias that I have pinned to a yellow brick wall for years. I left them alone this year so that this class can get a hands-on look at this unique kind of pruning and artwork. This will be a great experience to learn and express yourself with your pruning. I am limiting this class to 15 students so that we may work together and really get into these plants. There is a sea of Andromeda, rhodos and azaleas. The cost of the class is $40.00. Please bring a lunch, and the Pruning School will quench your thirst. Class is from 10am-2pm and I will stay longer if you wish. Handpruners and handsaws are the only tools we need. Please send your check and registration form in as your reservation, and I will send you detailed directions to this magnificent garden. As always, we will postpone in the event of rain but will use the following Friday, June 20th as the rain date. My guarantee: You will love this one, and I can’t wait!! See you there, Peter! |
