We will hold our first February class in the gardens of the historic Ashburn Presbyterian Church, located at 20962 Ashburn Road in old Ashburn, Virginia.

This hands-on class will cover dormant season pruning of hollies, Manhattan euonymus, burning bush, Japanese maples, rose of Sharon, crape myrtle, English and Korean boxwood, laurels, spiraea and will also include structure pruning of young oaks, maples and Yoshino cherries.

Reminder: It’s February; you can always take a layer off, so dress for cold weather. If weather becomes an issue, the class will be postponed according to the Loudoun County Schools closure for inclement weather. The snow/rain date is 22 February 2008.

Come help us prune some great old plants at this historic site. Bring a lunch—the church and The Pruning School will provide plenty of hot and cold beverages— your hand pruners and handsaw. Class begins at 10am. We will prune until 2pm with a break for lunch.
